Mesa Point guard Jahii Carson put together another spectacular performance Jan. 11 vs. Brophy leaving spectators in awe of his talents.
Carson, an ASU commit, and the top player in Arizona, scored 32 points in a 67-58 victory at Brophy. He set the tempo for the game early by making a three point basket to start the game.
At the end of the first half, Carson made a buzzer-beater shot from beyond an NBA range three-pointer.
Later in the game on the fast break, he slammed the basketball down to the ground and then dunked the ball while it was in mid-air.
Brophy trailed by 11 points starting play in the second half, but they would recollect themselves.
Wilson Horn '11 made a bank shot as time expired in the third quarter giving Brophy their first lead, 45-44, since the first quarter.
The Broncos outscored Mesa 20 to 8 in the third quarter.
However, the Jackrabbits regrouped in the fourth quarter and outscored Brophy 22 to 13 in the quarter.
Sai Tummala '11 led the Broncos with 16 points and also amassed eight rebounds.
Fred Gammage '12 scored 11 for Brophy and had three assists, while Chris Pierre '11 scored seven and had four assists.
Brophy falls to 5-3 in powerpoint games, 10-5 overall, while Mesa is 9-5 midway through the season.
Next for Brophy is their fiesta-region opponent Red Mountain, on the road Jan. 13.
