- Both the Brophy Broncos and the Mountain Pointe Pride earned close first round playoff victories.
- Mountain Pointe trailed 14-0 entering the fourth quarter against No. 12 Red Mountain, but scored 21 points in the final frame to mount the comeback.
- Late in the fourth quarter Brophy led Mountain Ridge by a touchdown. Twice the Bronco defense forced an interception to seal the game.
- Mountain Pointe went 12-1 last season; their only loss was to Mesa in the semifinals 14-10.

- #8 LB/RB Izzy Marshall- committed to Arizona State, leads team with 34 tackles, also has 2 sacks and an interception for a touchdown.
- #85 FS/WR Jalen Brown- tied for the lead in 5A-I with 6 interceptions, he is a freshman.
