Mesa Cheat Sheet

• Mesa and Brophy met twice last season, with Brophy winning in the regular season and Mesa prevailing in the quarterfinal game in the playoffs.
• In 2010 Mesa is 2-5 (0-3 fiesta) and is riding low on a 5 game losing streak.
  
• Brophy is 17th in power points, while Mesa is 20th.
• Players to watch for Mesa: #40 LB/TE Setone (Tony) Vaitafa. Tony has served a 3 game suspension earlier in the year for academics and may miss this one due to a motorcycle injury. He was all state last year with 9 1/2 sacks.
  
• One of Mesa's biggest concerns is the QB position (#9 Jeremy Noble). The team is averaging less than 100 yards passing a game and Noble has thrown as many touchdowns (6) as interceptions (6).
• Also watch #21 Marquis Pharrams from Mesa. He is their leading rusher and reciever (509 rushing yards, 149 recieving yards and 4 TD). Pharrams also returns on kickoffs and has had great sucess averaging over 30 yards a return.
  
• Late on Thursday Brophy QB Tyler Bruggman suffered a season ending ankle injury. The freak injury occurred during walk-through's.
